In social media, what does pov mean? What about TikTok?

On various social media platforms, POV is seen in videos. PoV is an abbreviation for Point of View.

Social media posts with POV or #pov can indicate one of two things:

  1. The content in this context focuses on the first-person perspective, demonstrating the point of view from the first-person perspective. In essence, it focuses on the piece’s “main character”;

  2. PoV is used instead of “in my opinion”, “I believe”, and other similar phrases to convey personal belief.

Point of View

POV refers to the viewpoint of the person who is narrating the story or playing the role. There are two types of first person narratives: first person and third person. When a character speaks from a first-person point of view, he uses I and us to describe his story. Alternatively, third-person is used when there is a speaker or narrator in a story using he/she or they.
